Local Government Re-Organisation Consultation
HM Government have opened a consultation on the proposed changes to local government, which are due to commence in 2026. The re-organisation will see significant changes to our current two tier system of District and County Councils as a single Unitary Authority is created and there are a number of possible options that are being considered.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the consultation process as there are major implications for how future services will be delivered. The following link shows the various options put forward and includes a further link to share comments on the proposals:
The subject will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on December 15th, when HPC’s proposed responses to the various options will be established; residents are welcome to come and share their views at the meeting.
