Projects
Green Trail & Heritage Network
The Horndean Parish Council Green Trail & Heritage Project continues to progress and the mapping phase is nearing completion.
We are excited to share the map that will be displayed on new low-level boards at key points around the trial and hope you like it.
Any feedback would be welcome.
Horndean Neighbourhood Improvement Plan
The purpose of the Horndean Neighbourhood Improvement Plan (the Plan) is to help to make Horndean centre and its surrounding areas look less neglected.
The areas include privately owned, District Council and County Council areas.
Speedwatch: Roads & Speeding
We believe that speeding drivers and road safety within Horndean is still one of the largest concerns of our residents with regard making the parish a better place to live.
We have engaged with the Police, HCC, other Parishes and device vendors in order to create this view.
Upgrades to Parish Play Area Facilities
Horndean Parish Council owns and maintains six play facilities across the Parish, which cater for a range of ages.
After securing additional grant funding, 2026 will see further major upgrades at Jubilee Park, with the creation of a dedication Multi Use Games Arena (MUGA).
Housing Development Engagement
New residential developments will continue to be a significant issue for Horndean. The most recent draft EHDC Local Plan already contained 443 additional homes, on top of 981 outstanding permissions – a total of over 1,400 new residences to be added in just a short period.
Local Government Re-organisation
Government proposals are expected to replace existing County, Borough and District government with very different models, changing the whole landscape of local government.
